Assoc. Prof. Houbing Song, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USA(IEEE Fellow)

Biography:He has served as an Associate Technical Editor for IEEE Communications Magazine (2017-present), an Associate Editor for IEEE Internet of Things Journal (2020-present), IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (2021-present), and IEEE Journal on Miniaturization for Air and Space Systems (J-MASS) (2020-present), and a Guest Editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (J-SAC), IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Network, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Sensors Journal, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics. His research interests include cyber-physical systems/internet of things, cybersecurity and privacy, AI/machine learning/big data analytics, edge computing, unmanned aircraft systems, connected vehicle, smart and connected health, and wireless communications and networking. His research has been sponsored by federal agencies (including US Department of Transportation, National Science Foundation, Federal Aviation Administration, US Department of Defense, and Air Force Research Laboratory) and industry. His research has been featured by popular news media outlets, including IEEE GlobalSpec's Engineering360, Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), Fox News, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, Forbes, The Washington Times, WFTV, New Atlas, Battle Space and Defense Daily.

Dr. Song is an IEEE Fellow, an ACM Distinguished Member, and an ACM Distinguished Speaker. Dr. Song is a Highly Cited Researcher identified by Clarivate™ (2021, 2022) and a Top 1000 Computer Scientist identified by Research.com. He received Research.com Rising Star of Science Award in 2022 (World Ranking: 82; US Ranking: 16). Assoc. Prof. Gai Zhao, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China

Title: Study on the tribological properties of ultrasonic motor frictional interface under aerospace

Abstract: With the development of spaceflight, lunar and mars explorations, there are urgent requirements for the high performance ultrasonic motor with large power, high precision and long life as precision drive system. However, low energy transfer efficiency and severe wear will limit its application in space environment. This study aims to reveal the mechanisms and build the theories of high energy transfer efficiency by studying the synergistic effect of temperature and mechanics on the performance of ultrasonic motor. Then, friction materials with high energy transfer efficiency are designed by optimizing the functional component and microstructure. Finally, the wear mechanisms of ultraonic motor in space environment are specially explored. This study will formulate the theory of high energy transfer efficiency, design methodology of high performance friction materials and key technology of wear control of space ultrasonic motor

Assoc. Prof. Chuang BI, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China

Biography:Dr. Chuang Bi is an associate professor and a doctoral supervisor in the School of Astronautics and Aeronautics at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, P. R. China. He conducted his Post-Doctoral training in 2018-2020 at Chongqing Changan Automobile Corporation Ltd., Chongqing, P. R. China. He obtained his Ph.D. at University College Dublin in 2012. He is the member of IEEE, and the member of Electromagnetic Compatibility Committee of China Power Supply Society. Dr. Bi’s primary research interests lie in the field of electromagnetic compatibility technologies in astronautics and aeronautics systems, complex electronic equipment and so on. He has published over 20 papers, and obtained over 10 national invention patents.
